lyrics

Thanks for coming in, I’m glad you brought her.
You have such a lovely daughter.
Before we begin, just let me say,
I’m sorry he left you on Valentine’s Day.

It’s hard for girls, when the father leaves.
Studies suggest that the child grieves.
She smiles little now that he’s gone away.
She didn’t bring cards in on Valentine’s Day.

<chorus> Weeping mother, don’t cry,
A single mom, is fine.
There’s no need to feel shame.
Folks split up, all the time.

Her report card states, that her grades a great,
But I’m worried about her emotional state.
Kids show depression, in their own way
Like crying in school on Valentine’s Day.

We know a counselor. Here’s his card.
He’ll help you out when things get hard.
Once she gets help, she’ll change right away,
And we’ll celebrate together next Valentine’s Day.

<chorus> Weeping mother, don’t cry,
A single mom, is fine.
There’s no need to feel shame.
Folks split up, all the time.

<solo>

<chorus> Weeping mother, don’t cry,
A single mom, is fine.
There’s no need to feel shame.
Folks split up, all the time.

Jason Deeble Connecticut

I'm a middle school math teacher, author/illustrator, and insufferable tea snob. I used to play drums in a cover band but we sort of fell apart. After that, I couldn't find anyone to make music with me anymore so I went off and did my own thing. Thanks very much for checking out my biography. I hope you enjoy my music. ... more
